Eccles Pike
Wednesday 15/08/07
Eccles Pike fell race - 3.5miles / 770feet
7th place - 23mins 53secs
Left behind in a sprint start across a field.
Passed by some cheeky short-cutters (oi Howie!) up a grassy bank.
Queue for a stile.
End up in 50th place.
Hit the road where they all suddenly slow down ?!?
Lots more walls, stiles and roads to cross.
Take a few places on the descent.
Get passed again on the road by a local.
Glad it was all over in 24 minutes.
Peak races have a certain charm I suppose.
Pleasantly surprised with my time though, 1-19 faster than Sally's record.
And most importantly of all, Joanne Bowen (unattached) did her first race !!!
